"Great Things Happen at Calvary"

Pastor Amos Lewis Quick, III is the 17th Senior Pastor in the 106 year history of Calvary Baptist Church.  Pastor Quick gives all glory and honor to God, through Christ Jesus, for his calling and accomplishments.

A native of Greensboro, NC, Pastor Quick, was introduced to the Good News at a very young age by his paternal grandparents and the Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ in High Point, NC.  After his education at the University of NC at Wilmington (Psychology) and living in Charlotte, North Carolina, Pastor Quick returned to Greensboro and began attending the New Light Missionary Baptist Church where Reverend Dr. Cardes H. Brown, Jr. is the Senior Pastor. 

Pastor Quick has amassed an impressive array of educational, social and civic recognitions and achievements He has organized and led numerous grassroots community efforts aimed at providing needed services and training for children and families struggling in poverty. 

Since 2004, Pastor Quick, has served on the Guilford County Schools Board of Education as the representative for District 9.   This past December, Pastor Quick was unanimously elected as the Vice – Chairman of the Guilford County Board of Education for the tenth consecutive time.  He was also elected in March of this year as the North Carolina State House Representative for District 58.  He will officially be sworn into this position in January, 2017.

On October 3rd, 2015,  Pastor Quick was recognized for his work and honored by his beloved James B. Dudley High School, as a 2015 Inductee into the Dudley High School’s Sports Hall of Fame / Hall of Distinction.

God’s blessings have truly been manifested upon Pastor Quick’s gifts and talents and the Calvary Baptist Church family with the growth in Christian education, membership, community outreach and worship services.  Under Pastor Quick’s leadership, and with the cooperation of its members and ministries, Calvary has re-emerged as a beacon of light and hope on the south side of High Point.   Calvary’s future plans include establishing a social service organization to help address the needs of our immediate community.

Two Bible verses exemplify Pastor Quick’s faith and love for Jesus Christ: “For the Word of the Lord is right; and all His works are done in truth.” (Psalm 33:4) And, “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6) 

Pastor Quick is the very blessed father of two beautiful, accomplished daughters – Jasmine and Raven.
